BASIC DRAWING using the plaster cast

TRADITIONALLY cast drawing has provided
an excellent manner for the study of seeing
proportions, shape relationships and the effect
of light and shadows. Once the plaster casts
are set up, they remain stationary and can be
worked on class by class in the same position
and lighting condition. When the basic shapes
are in place, the triangulation method, a
complete form of measuring, will be introduced
for accuracy. Vine charcoal, a dry medium, will
be used for shading, allowing quick adjustments.
